Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are getting through the last several weeks of winter but we still are relying on our furnaces, especially during cold nights. Nothing is worse than turning in at night just to find out your furnace won’t kick on. If your furnace won’t turn on, here are a few things you can check yourself before calling Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters monthly. If you don’t, they can get clogged, blocking air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Start by turning the thermostat up a few degrees to get the furnace to turn on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t kick on. Also, verify the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but confirm the power switch next to the heating equipment is “On.” Even gas furnaces use electricity so verify the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch wasn’t accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your furnace will still not start up, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 954-736-4314 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
