What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a few of the most typical air conditioning problems in Denver.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment operating but there isn’t cool air coming out, you may need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so another problem to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is blocked. If you can confirm these issues, you may be able to find the issue; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause huge cooling issues. Another thing that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be good to go. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your trouble, whatever AC trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
