Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

Two Service Experts centers are making a statement this October with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both going to paint two of their service vans pink for the fight cure breast cancer.

For the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help end breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans plus $10 for every heating tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted multiple vans pink to raise funds for breast cancer. In 2015, Fras-Air donated over $7,000 to Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, the general manager and one of his technicians both lost their mothers to other forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute says that 107,184 women in New Jersey suffered from breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the amount of cases is actually decreasing each year, that still represents a huge number of families who are grappling with this disease, and therefore we have an urgent need for research and support.”

The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, seconded Schneider’s thoughts. “As stated by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in the state – for both females and males.”
